Job Description for Grinder Position: Grinder     Reports To: Supervisor, Gel/Patch/Grind Department Liner Set Drill and Grind   Job Description General Description of Position: Responsible for all duties assigned in Duties:     Drills holes in decks, hulls and liners so that boats can be rigged. Cuts excess fiberglass away so that all parts fit together when boats are rigged.  Checks to see if deck and hull fit. Transports hulls to rigging for assembly (Glass I). Transports parts to QA (Glass II). Responsible for keeping equipment and tools clean and in proper working order and cleanliness of work area. Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time. Report to work on time for designated shift. Required to adhere to company safety policies and procedures. All other duties assigned.   Education & Work Experience: Previous grinding experience preferred. Must be able to read and understand instructions. Must be able to use various hand tools, including grinder, drill and saw. Environmental and Working Conditions: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation. Must have effective eyesight. Normal duties include reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including helmet, respirator, hearing protection and grinding suit. Skills & Aptitudes: Language skills - Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English. Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity. Travel: No travel required in this position.
